President Murmu to take sortie in indigenous LCH ‘Prachand’ tomorrow

President Droupadi Murmu will on Friday fly in the India-made Light Combat Helicopter(LCH) ‘Prachand’ from the Jaisalmer Air Force Station during the Indian Air Force (IAF) exercise Vayu Shakti-2026.

Murmu, the Supreme Commander of India’s Armed Forces, would board the indigenous double-engine helicopter made by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited for her historic flight, which will make her the first Indian President to fly in the Light Combat Helicopter, the Sukhoi Su-30 and the Rafale fighter jets.

During the flight, she would conduct an aerial survey of the Vayu Shakti Vyayam Kshetra.

Later in the afternoon, the President will be the Chief Guest at the IAF’s grand firepower show, Vayu Shakti-2026. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Kishanrao Bagade and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma will also accompany the President at the show.
